My talents as adventurer were put to a test already before leaving: Ngo Dzung, the until recently very friendly and helpful employee of the travel agency in Hanoi, through which I had booked all my internal flights (and - as you can see on my itinerary - there were quite many of them...), made a small mistake with important consequences for me: he forgot to buy the flights which he had booked for me and all the reservations were cancelled by Vietnam Airlines and Lao Airlines !!!
I was quite shocked when I learnt this on Wednesday morning and I tried to sort out things day by day. However, several flights are in the meanwhile fully booked. Therefore, I do not know whether I will be able to follow my itinerary and since almost all the flights seemed to be fully booked for the last week or so of my trip, I am not sure yet how I will manage.
So, don't be surprised if I post a message from Thailand or somewhere in the South of Vietnam, or who knows from which place, as I have to be quite flexible now and to go whereever there is a free flight.
My train from Brussels to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport leaves tomorrow morning at 07h30 (!!) and my flight departs at 12h00. I hope that I will wake up in time (thanks, Michael, for the wake-up call from overseas!) and that everythings goes smoothly!
