Diarrhea! Oh no !!!!

Unfortunately, I got a local bug / virus or something. Nothing dramatic, but this means that I have almost not slept last night. I could not go to the royal palace this morning and I tried to go to the cooking class. I took some Immodium and left the guesthouse. I felt really bad !! We started with a market tour, which was very interesting, but with the strong smell from all over, it was just too much . Things went worse! I started the class, but after 15 minutres my stomach turned round. I could not even go back to the guesthouse as I had already checked out since I am leaving tonight. Bad luck !! But fortunately there was Ruth, the owner of the cooking school. She is from Australia and built up a very nice and good restaurant here with the cooking school. At the same time she is supporting the municipal orphanage here which has over 400 kids. You can check out her activities on her website that i will post later. Cannot find it for the moment. Ruth also said that this bug went around everywhere her, also with the locals, but for most (and herself) it took "only" 24 hours, so I should be through it soon. It seems that usually they do not have this kind of viruses here, as it is much cooler. But this year is exceptionally hot. I have to admit that I liked it so far, but if you see the conrete consequences of it, a little bit cooler would not be bad.

Ruth and a friend of her working in Hong Kong, but regularly coming here to help the orphanage, were very sweet and took care of me. They let me rest in one of the rooms of their house and gave me a better tasting electrolyte than the one I had bought in the drugstore in Brussels, which tasted simply disgusting !! Then I slept for around 4 hours, which made me feel better. I watched the cooking class a little bit at the end, but could not taste any of it. Now I will leave to the airport to catch my flight to the capital Vientiane.
